Trees were divided into seven components - leaves, current twigs, old twigs, deadwood (branches), branches, bark, and bole wood. Samples from each component were analyzed for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and percent ash.
